What we collect
LocalDocs has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no automatic data collection. Your documents, questions, chat messages, images, and drawings are processed entirely on your device and are not collected by us.
- All of your content (documents, search index, chat history, images, drawings) is stored in the app’s private storage, which Android encrypts at rest on devices with a lock screen enabled.
- There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting services.
- The one time any in-app content is transmitted is when you choose to report an answer — and only when you tap Submit in the report form (see Reporting an answer below). Nothing is sent otherwise.

No user content is included in the model requests — they are identified only by the model name and version. Apart from the model download/version check, fetching a web page you explicitly share to the app, and a report you explicitly submit, the app works fully offline.
Reporting an answer
Every AI answer has a small Report control. If you tap it, a form opens where you describe what’s wrong and may optionally leave your email so we can reply. This is entirely optional and user-initiated.
When — and only when — you tap Submit, the app sends the following over a secure (HTTPS) connection to the developer’s server, which forwards it to us by email:
- the description you wrote,
- the specific answer you are reporting,
- the app version, and
- your email address only if you chose to provide one.
Nothing else is sent. We use reports solely to review and improve answer quality. We do not use them for advertising or share them with third parties, and there are no SMTP credentials or developer contact details stored inside the app.
How long we keep reports, and how to have one deleted
A submitted report is the only thing LocalDocs ever sends us, so it is the only thing there is to keep or delete. Everything else — your documents, the text extracted from them, the search index, your chats and the answers themselves — stays on your device and is never transmitted, so we could not delete it even if you asked: uninstalling the app removes it.
Retention. We keep a report only for as long as we need it to investigate the answer-quality problem it describes, and in no case longer than 12 months from the day you send it. After that it is deleted.
Deletion on request. You can ask us to delete a report sooner. Email [email protected] and we will delete it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. If you left an email address with the report, write from that address and we can find it immediately. If you reported without one, tell us roughly when you sent it or quote a line from the answer you reported — a report carries no account, device identifier or any other way for us to recognise you, so without one of those we may not be able to tell which report is yours.
Third-party SDKs and libraries
LocalDocs uses open-source libraries (listed in Settings → Third-party libraries). None of these libraries are configured to collect or transmit personal data.
The app runs Google Gemma models on-device. Your use of the Gemma models is additionally governed by the Gemma Terms of Use.
Children’s privacy
LocalDocs does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL. The “Last updated” date above will reflect any revision.
